After a long day at work, when you get home you want to relax. You have your dinner and take your cup of coffee and head for the deck or patio to take winding down a step further. Your goal is to fire up the fire pit because sitting and watching the flame jump and change colors is so relaxing, that the stresses of the day just melt away. But you must keep in mind that good fires can turn into bad fires from just little mistakes. So remember;
* Stack firewood at least 15 feet away from the firepit and your home.
* If hot coals pop out on the deck, extinguish them as quickly as possible.
* If you have a screen cover, use it, because screen covers work as a spark arrester.
* Keep a fire extinguisher or a water hose close by just in case they might be needed.
* NEVER! Leave and let the fire just burn out. Be a good scout and
make sure it’s out before calling it a day. RLY
